More Shows Need To Laugh Like DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Did

Updated: Nov 9, 2022

March 2nd 2022, the date most of us fans unknowingly watched the last new episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Almost six months later I sit behind my keyboard, still thinking about this show and how it’s laugh was it’s real superpower. In today’s world of television there is many serious shows and I respect them for the stories they are trying to tell. However, I believe Legends of Tomorrow embraces a more powerful method of storytelling. A serious plot but balanced with comedy and not being afraid to poke fun at themselves. There are so many shows that had excellent potential but fell off because of their attempt to take themselves too seriously.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was a TV show that was not afraid to laugh or be the odd one out in the Arrowverse. I believe the writers deserve a round of applause for their work delivering so many deep plot lines, excellent representation and making fans around the world laugh.

The Legends of Tomorrow fandom is special too, even after the show ended we still stand a mighty community in the name of Beebo! I’ve been fortunate enough to find many wonderful people who I’m happy to call friends in this fandom. The Legends of Tomorrow fandom is one of few that truly feels like a community. Although I was (and still am) devastated over the cancelling of the show, I’m in awe for how the fans came together for Campaign Legends and am happy to be apart of it in a small way. Throughout this post I’ve featured images of my connection to the show and the fandom. These images capture so many happy memories.

Personally, I still believe it was a crime against Beebo to not give these whacky characters a proper conclusion. Perhaps I have too much of the show’s counter part Supergirl’s hopeful spirit, but I refuse to believe that we’ve seen the last of these iconic Legends.
